A Great Seward Alaska Fishing Charter Experience

Just a Quick Note about the CAPTAINS and Crew:

My name is Justin and I own Just-In-Time Charters.  I was born and raised in Seward, Alaska. I used to fish on the docks when I was a boy and watch charters come in with their fish caught from our local Alaska waters. After a while the captains started asking me to clean their boats and fish. Then I received my first chance to deckhand in 1989; since that time there has only been 2 seasons that I have not fished. I tried wildlife viewing and ocean surveying, both did not hold the passion I have for fishing. I earned my Captain papers in 1997 and have worked on the ocean ever since.

I love the water and enjoy hunting for all the fish Seward has to offer like Halibut, Lingcod, many different species of Rock fish pelagic and non-pelagic and all four species of Salmon. I believe if you fish hard you will find them, and if you work hard, you will land them.

Beau is the full-time skipper of the Just-In Time. Beau moved to Seward in 2004 where he quickly found deep sea fishing was an exciting and fun sport. He came down on the docks looking for work and that’s where we met and have had a great friendship and working relationship ever since. In that time he acquired the experience and knowledge to become a licensed and skilled captain. Beau’s personality and attitude makes him very fun to fish with.

Our Seward Alaska Charter Fishing Boat

The  JUST-IN-TIME is a 27 ft Sea sport, 2700 sport model with twin 225hp 4 stroke outboards. The boat has an 8 ft beam, the back deck is 8 ft wide by 10 ft long that gives a lot of room for fishing. The cabin is 8x8 and can seat 6 people and has heat on those cold days and a head.

The Just-in-Time electronics are state of the art Furuno with 2- I-com VHF marine. The range is 200 miles and I don't usually travel more than 60 or 70 miles one way. The vessel speed is 26 to 28 knots, but the weather is what really decides the speed and distance we will travel. The JUST-IN-TIME is Coast Guard documented and certified, and equipped with the required safety equipment, plus some!!!

I supply all the fishing gear, halibut rods are made by Lamiglas, the reels are AVET ex-4/0 and we use tuff line 100 lb. test and power pro 100 lb. test. Hooks are 15/0 to 17/0 and weights are usually 1 to 3 lb. Okuma rods and reels with 30 lb. test monofilament are used for Seward, Alaska salmon fishing.  We crimp our own gear except jigs but it is important to us that our gear is up to the challenge of the fisheries that we have.

If you have a special rod and reel you enjoy bring it we don’t mind as long as it doesn’t interfere with other anglers.

If you have questions, please contact me. I look forward to taking you on the Alaska Fishing adventure your looking for!
